Middle Level Orchestra Festival for Grades 6-9 

General Information - Tier 1
The Middle Level Orchestra Festival is open to school age student orchestras composed exclusively of students in grades 6 through 9.  MNSOTA is pleased to offer three sites for Tier 1. The deadline for all sites is December 5, 2008 (NOTE earlier deadline this year).

Tier 2 Information
Every orchestra that performs at the Tier 1 festival and receives an overal rating of "Superior with Distinction" will advance to Tier 2.  A minimum of six orchestras will perform at Tier 2.  If there are not six orchestras that receive Superior with Distinction ratings, the orchestra(s) with the next highest rating will be offered the Tier 2 opportunity.

The orchestras selected for the Tier 2 honor will:
•spend March 30, 2009 at Orchestra Hall

•work with members of the Minnesota Orchestra

•perform selections from Tier 1 in a concert

•receive an ensemble trophy

•make memories that will inspire their musical growth for years to come

•be able to purchase professional photographs and CDs through their director
