6/6/08 Oregon, WI 1.5+ FTE (with possibly a few more 10ths to come) orchestra/string specialist openings in Oregon WI (south of Madison 8 miles)
Right now there is a full time orchestra opening in the intermediate (Grades 5/6) building due to a resignation/move. There is also a NEW.5 FTE string specialist position at Oregon High School to help with small group instruction and chamber music. The orchestra classes will serve over 575 students in our district next fall. We have 5.25 FTE. If additional staffing comes through in the next week or so there will most likely be 2.0 positions available. Exact positions may change based on inside interest and interviews but the FTE will be the same. Check on WECAN for listing and updates. These positions close on June 13.

Robbinsdale Area Schools will be posting this position within the next week: 1.0 FTE Armstrong High School Orchestra
This position involves three orchestras (9th Grade, non-auditioned grades 10-12, auditioned grades 10-12, which also includes some full orchestra), sectionals, and one music appreciation class (Music Cafe) daily. The director will work closely with district string staff and building colleagues to coordinate a variety of events and performances each year, including a fall performance at Orchestra Hall. 6/3/2008 Wayzata, MN The Blake School has Part Time(.7 FTE) Lower School Strings Teacher (Grades PK-5) for 2008-2009 on their Highcroft Campus, Wayzata
The Blake School seeks to hire an experienced strings teacher to join our Lower School faculty on our Highcroft Campus in Wayzata. The Lower School strings teacher works with small groups of children who have chosen to study the violin or cello. Approximately 20% of the Lower School students take strings lessons as a part of their Blake music education. Parents often attend their child’s lesson and are directly involved in the child’s daily practice at home.
Responsibilities:
· Teach weekly small group violin and cello classes
· Rehearse mixed-age strings ensembles twice a month
· Provide weekly note-reading classes for f?urth and fifth grade students
· Direct periodic student performances

5/24/2008 Rochester, MN The Southeastern Minnesota Youth Orchestra (SEMYO), based in Rochester, MN, is actively seeking a conductor for the Philharmonic Orchestra. The SEMYO organization consists of four large ensembles that rehearse on Saturday mornings during the school year in Rochester.. The Philharmonic Orchestra is a full orchestra with intermediate level students who are in middle and high school. The orchestra has approximately 60 members. The season is divided into 3 trimesters with a concert at the conclusion of each trimester. The conductor is a member of the Artistic Staff and is supported by the SEMYO Board of Directors and the Artistic Production Committee.
